Launch Viewing
Looking to see our next launch for yourself? Whether you're at home or passing through the area, we've got you covered on all the latest updates and launch information.
Where to Watch a Launch
Planning on coming to watch a rocket launch? Here's our list of the best viewing locations. Before planning your trip, be aware that depending on factors such as weather conditions, some launches may "slip" from one day to another. We recommend planning to stay in the area for at least a few days.
NASA Wallops Visitor Center
The Visitor Center is located on Route 175, six miles east of US-13 and five miles west of Chincoteague Island, VA. It is a 60-minute drive south from Salisbury and Ocean City, MD and a 90-minute drive north from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.
Chincoteague Island, Virginia
The island of Chincoteague on the Eastern Shore of Virginia is perfectly positioned to offer spectacular public viewing sites as well as waterfront lodging options on the Chincoteague Bay offering private balcony views.
Assateague Island National Seashore - Maryland
Located 30 miles north of Wallops Island, Maryland's Assateague Island provides the next closest beachside launch viewing.
Ocean City, Maryland
Ocean City is about 40 miles away from Wallops and provides a great viewing angle for most launches both day and night.
Delaware Seashore
Delaware's coast affords a number of viewing options as well from around 65 miles away. We recommend keeping your eyes peeled for night launches if you're watching from this far out.
Virginia Beach
Though Virginia Beach is about 70 miles south of Wallops, some launch azimuths take the rocket in a southern direction- keep an eye out if you're in the area!
Launch with the Virginia Spaceport Authority
We're ready and equipped to handle a variety of launch services to ensure mission success for you and your team.
