Quality Specialist
General Description:
Supports quality program requirements across all company operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitors ongoing operations, performs inspections, audits, training, and generates required written and oral reports as requested by supervisor.
2. Develops processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements applied to company and contracted operations.
3. Performs specific assigned tasks required to verify regulatory compliance and develops processes to efficiently monitor ongoing operations to capture potential compliance issues early in the process and prevent major violations during workflows.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
General Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Job-Related Experience: Experience working in a quality oversight role within technical operations. ISO 9000 and AS 9100 experience preferred.
Certifications: External certifications from independent issuing organizations are preferred in the areas of safety, quality, or environmental.
Licenses, etc.: Valid driver's license is necessary when operating a vehicle while on agency business.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge federal, state, and local safety and operational regulations related to industrial and flight operations.
Skills: The ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships within and external to the organization. Must be able to organize, set priorities, and manage unexpected change driven by external factors.
Abilities: Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing; work effectively with other agency staff and vendors; manage multiple tasks; consistently meet deadlines; participate in short- and long-range planning for the Authority in safety and operations.
Physical Demands: Work is light requiring typical office behaviors and outside work in an industrial environment supporting hazardous operations.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical office setting with occasional operations support in hazards outside environments
Must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility for issuance of a NASA credential.
